Definitely has more character than basic Beaujolais, and the price is better than most too!
Wild, peppery and stemmy with black cherry, balsamic and strawberry fruit. A note of latex somewhere in there too. Significant graphite or black stone minerality on the palate which has decent body and a gentle tartness. For the price it’s available at, you’d think it was intended to be a quaffer, but it’s really not that at all. Might be a bit too wild for some people, not me! Great ‘by the glass at a winebar’ sort of red, particularly with food. It’s going to handle all sorts of red meat, but pigeon or venison carpaccio might be your best bet.
